Over the weekend, The Boys and Girls Track and Field teams preformed at the Crusdaer Inv. at Bishop Eustace High School and then The Husky Relays at Matawan High School.
On Friday, the Freshman and Novice team shined at the Crusader invitation. Freshman Natalie Burns and Erich Robenson both took home 2 golds for winnning the Freshman 200 and being a member of the 4x100m winning relay team. In addition, both Freshman Girls 4x100m team medaled with Ashley Randle, Julia Esposito, Aliyah Stephens, and Natalie Burns won and the team of Anna Carrozo, Alexa Istraola, Tatianna Hernandez and Chloe George placed 3rd. Aliyah Stephens placed 3rd in the 200m Ashley Randle also placed 5rd in the 200m.In the freshman 200, PVI had 6 of the top 10 places.
In boys action, Freshman Erich Robenson won the 200m, Rich Bush place 5th and both were part of the winninfg 4x100m freshman relay. They teamed with Dominic Brown and Tyler Barnett.
In the novice division, Julia Mayo placed 2nd and Gabby Scaramuzzo 3rd in the 200m. The 4x100m teams both placed and medaled, placing 2nd and 3rd.
On Staurday, the Varsity made their way to Matawan HS for the Husky Relays. With beautiful weather, the team responded.
the Boys placed 10th as a team in limited events. The boys 4x800m team of George Balzer, Matt Pluta, Rob Cleary, and Jake Durante-Koller won gold in a time of 8:32. in the Discus, Vince Santasiero and Jabari Mani placed 2nd with a combined throw of 269. Also placing for the boys was the 4x200m team of Erich Robenson, Tyler Barnett, Chris Randle, and Stefone Moore-Green.
The girls team showed they will be a force to recken with down the road, They placed 5th in the competitive Division II while only competing in 10 of the 14 events.
First place finished went to the HJ relay (Steele Stokely and Kaylynne Timmons) and the 4x200m relay (Natalie Burns, Molly Gallagher, Kristen McShane and Kaylynne Timmons) Second place finishes included The sprint Medley Relay, only 15 mins after the 4x200( Natalie Burns, Kaylynne Timmons, Kristen McShane, and Stephanie Hiester) and the Javelin relay (Claire Gallagher and Bernadette McGowen.) The team had one 3rd place finish in the Shot relay ( Bernadette McGowan and Kristen McShane) and 3 6th place finishes, The 4x100(Molly Gallagher, Ashley Randle, Kaylia Blocker, and Sydney Gans), Long Jump (Gabby Scaramuzzo and Steele Stokely) and the 4x800m team of Stephanie Hiester, Emma Cervany, Haley Karcher, and Michaela Urbach.
