Paul VI played strong defense and got key contributions from a couple of role players in a 59-40 win over Rancocas Valley in a clash of Top 6 teams on Saturday night.
Senior forward Jahvan Rosbia scored a season-high 12 and senior forward Alex Danko bounced off the bench and grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles (11-1), the No. 2 team in the rankings.
"We got some good contributions from some other guys," Paul VI coach Tony Devlin said. "It was a really good win for us. That (RV) is a good team.
"This is a big win for us in terms of power points. We beat a quality Group 4 team with a lot of wins."
Senior Nick Davidson scored 13 and sophomore Adam Perry added 12 for No. 6 RV (10-3) in the final game of the 11-game Jeff Coney Classic.
The Red Devils were within 18-16 at halftime but the Eagles opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run, punctuated by a breakaway slam by Jair Green.
